Toilet Installation

Most toilets come in two pieces consisting of a tank and a bowl; there are also 1 piece toilets which are more costly. The most important factor is the water usage by the flush, as most toilets are usually 3.5 gallons. Water saving toilets only uses 1.6 gallons per flush and most states are now requiring them in new construction.

Installation consists of replacing of toilet flange which bolts toilet into floor, wax rings are replaced and the toilet is sealed to the floor using bolts and plumber’s putty. A spud washer is replaced on the bottom of the tank which fits into the water inlet of the bowl. A supply tube is fitted between shutoff valve and toilet tank.

Water Meter And Main Shut Off Valve

The water meter is a circular attachment next to the main shut off valve that measures the amount of water coming in from the main supply; if any leaks or malfunctions occur on these, contact your local water company for repairs.
